FAQ - Frequently asked questions

These are used cars. How can I know that they are safe to drive?
Spagg conducts a 2 step process to minimize safety risks of the Spagg network vehicles:
1. Renters are asked to keep current with required state exams and tests to verify that vehicle has required safety equipment.
2. Spagg describes vehicle safety guidelines to all vehicle owners, and walks them through a a 20 point questionnaire that details most of the security points in a car. The owner must attest that the vehicle passes all 20 points before each and every rental. For more information go to Vehicle Safety Checklist. Please note: Even though Spagg performs the above procedures to minimize vehicle safety risks, it cannot endorse the safety of the vehicles rented. The vehicle owner has the ultimate responsibility for renting a safe vehicle, and the renter has the responsibility for maintaining the vehicle in safe working condition during the rental.

How can I know that I am not driving a stolen vehicle?
• Vehicle ownership is verified for all Spagg network owners through a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) check.

What documents do I need to rent a car from the Spagg Network?
You will need to provide the following information:
• Personal identification through a valid Driver License and Credit Card (credit card must match primary driver and be billed to your address).
• Vehicle insurance policy with sufficient property and 3rd party coverage for rentals. Spagg will verify coverage with your insurance company. If you do not have your own insurance coverage, Spagg can provide you with a customized insurance policy to cover your rental. Market rates apply.
• Like many other car rental companies, Spagg will require a pre-authorization on your credit card to cover eventual incidentals.

How can I pay for the rental?
Spagg accepts credit and debit cards, but we require for security purposes a valid credit card on the name of the primary driver.

How can I meet the owner of the vehicle to pick up the car?
Spagg has a list of meeting places for each city and neighborhood. Meeting points are public places, typically a free parking lot from an established retail chain. You will be able to stop your vehicle, meet the owner and sign the contract.

When Spagg completes car reservations, you will be able to choose your preferred meeting place. Spagg will send renters and owners a confirmation email with all details of transaction, including address and time for pick-up and drop-off of the car. A link with the Google maps location will also be sent.

Please note: We ask our customers not to leave your vehicles while at the meeting places provided, as it would most likely be against the rules of the parking lot used.

What should I do during the car pick-up appointment?
When Spagg confirms your rental, you will receive a confirmation email with the agreed location, time of pick-up and all details on the procedure for pick-up. Please print this email for future reference.

The confirmation email will contain a Google Maps link to the pick-up location. Please use it to find directions to go to the pick-up location.

The owner is responsible for bringing a copy of the rental contract. Both parties complete the check up of the car and sign the contract.

What should I do during the car return appointment?
When Spagg confirms your rental, you will receive an email with the agreed location, time of return and all details on the procedure to follow. Please print it for future reference. Return points are typically the same as for the pick-up.

Owner and renter will check the vehicle for differences with the state of pick-up. Any differences should be marked on the return check bill. Gas and mileage are also important to note, as they will be used to calculate additional charges to the card. Owner and renter will sign the return check bill.
